A Mark of Greatness

A Mark of Greatness

Chatting to Bonné de Bod about all the beautiful markets that Joburg has to offer got us itching to make a list of some of our favourites – Here they are!

Neighbourgoods Market

The original inner-city Saturday celebration, Neighbourgoods has been around for a few years now and has firmly established itself as the only place to be seen on the weekend. Covering two floors and filled with delicious fresh food, mouth-watering drinks and craft beers, as well as beautiful clothes and jewellery, it’s the ultimate place to chill out while enjoying some live music. Details: 72 Juta Street, Braamfontein. Saturday from 9am – 3pm.

Bryanston Organic Market

This Bryanston gem is Bonnés favourite, and for good reason! As Joburg’s original outdoor market, it’s got more fresh fruit and vegetables than you can imagine, nestled between stalls overflowing with tasty fresh meals and refreshing drinks. No matter your palate, the market is guaranteed to have something delicious for you, and if food isn’t quite your thing, you can also expect art, clothing and handmade crafts to keep you happy. Take the kids along for a beautiful morning out in the sunshine. Details: Culross Road, Bryanston. Thursday and Friday 9am – 3pm.

Rosebank Sunday Market

A treasure trove of hidden gems, the Rosebank Sunday Market is filled with everything from collectables and antiques to African crafts and international foods. Larger than many of the other markets in Joburg, it’s got something for everyone, including fresh food stalls and live music from young up-and-coming South African musicians, plus an adorable play area for your kids. Details: Upper Level, The Mall of Rosebank, Rosebank. Sunday 9am – 4pm.
