Every now and then a really extraordinary wine comes along. And this Paul Cluver Wines Noble Late Harvest 2017 is nothing if not extraordinary. One of the reasons is that it’s the first one to be released in three years, as Cellar Master Andries Burger will only release it when he feels it’s of the standard this wine has come to be known for. This 2017 treat has a superb concentration of flavours … the aromas on the nose carry through to the palate with fresh pineapple, marmalade, kumquat and honey characters. With a long and lingering aftertaste, it’s the perfect partner to cheeses, desserts or simply enjoy chilled, on its own. Available directly from the Tasting Room for R250 a bottle, as well as select bottle stores. Also look out for the Paul Cluver Wines Estate Riesling 2017, which just oozes elegance.  Pale, with a beautiful green apple tinge, it smells of fresh green apple, apple blossom, beeswax and fynbos honey notes. The wine is crisp and clean … perfect hot weather wine, it’s beautifully refreshing and is the perfect partner to a Gorgonzola and roasted sweet potato salad with honey dressing; with pan fried prawns with paprika, toasted sesame and yoghurt dressing; or even roast pork chops with pomegranate and coriander salsa.
