We caught up with a few of your favourite local personalities and asked them, how they will be getting into the world cup spirit and where will they’ll be watching this year?

Professional DJ, DJ Sox

I love my football and watch most of the games at home or at friend’s houses as I don’t really enjoy watching them at venues with a lot of people who aren’t interested in the games as much as I am!

TV/Radio Personality, Liezel van der Westhuizen

We normally do a Braai on the 14th June for the opening ceremony and for the first game – such fun!

Professional Netball Player & TV Personality, Vanes-Mari du Toit

I love to paint my face and go watch the Soccer with friends at a local screening of the matches, Churchills Bar in Melrose Arch is a fun spot to watch the games!

Professional Rugby Player, Rudy Paige

Definitely at home with my family and friends… Maybe arrange a braai or two and wear the colours of our favourite team!

After 868 games between 209 teams over more than two years of qualification, the World Cup schedule has been set. Let the countdown begin!
