Festival de Mexico will bring out the ‘Ariba’ in you…

If anyone knows how to do a Halloween Festival in style – it would have to be the Mexican’s… like, have you seen their Day Of The Dead costumes? That stuff is scary. So when we heard that Festival De Mexico was returning again in time for Halloween – we got quite excited!
Put on your scariest costume and get ready to trick or treat in the outdoor events area at Montecasino, which will magically transform in to a Mexican themed wonderland on Saturday 3rd November.
There will be 24 different food vendors, a vast variety of tequilas, Mexican cocktails, piñata showdowns, a chilli eating competition, bull riding, and entertainment in bucket loads.
Of course great entertainment comes standard at these sorts of events and there is an A-list selection of local bands lined up to perform, with heavy-weights Mi Casa taking to the stage, along with top live acts Rubber Duc, Timo ODV, Charlie Finch and Apple Gule.
Bring the kids (of course), as there is a specially dedicated area where you can drop off the kiddos for face painting, jumping castle fun, a mini stage with a magician and clown acts, and a sweets kiosk.
They are expecting about 8 000 people to attend this year, and the outdoor area is the perfect fit for a festival of this magnitude. There will also be an attempt to break the record of Africa’s biggest tequila toast a celebration uniquely suited to the event. The record is just over  5000 people and that was set in May this year. We say… Ole!
Of course being responsible is important, so no under 18’s are allowed, and event organisers suggest making use of a driver service such as Goodfella’s or Uber if you will be drinking.
The gates will open at 12h00 and the event will run until 22h00. Make sure to book your tickets here…
