“The sacred fire is the irrepressible and permanent need to keep working in my studio, every single day, to the point of feeling guilty when for one reason or another I have to stop. This is the sacred fire, at least the way I feel it, a sort of addiction to the act of creation compounded by an impossibility of escaping this inner call. An enthusiasm and ardour at work, despite the sometimes boring or ungrateful aspects. In a word, the ‘sacred fire’ within me is the passion to explore the material, to make it say things, things to be shared afterwards with the greatest possible number of brethren.” (Guy Ferrer.
