Thirteen years after their last studio offering, local favourites Mango Groove are back with Bang the Drum, a vibrant collection of 16 new songs that are guaranteed to inspire good times. The sound is typically eclectic - a melange of 50s swing, marabi, jive and kwela, plus contemporary pop. We love the penny whistles, saxophones and gumboots on Hey!, and the fact that the energy levels are so high. Stand out songs include the exuberant title track and the ballad Belong.
