1. Piece of Africa
Eugenie Drakes has opened a real gem of a store in the newly revamped Firs in Rosebank. This boutique is bursting with African artworks, creative beaded necklaces and upmarket African home decor pieces. Piece is not your traditional curio store - it’s hugely popular with overseas guests staying in the adjacent Hyatt hotel, but Eugenie’s wish is to get locals as excited about African jewellery as visitors to our shores. A great deal of the jewellery worn by the models in this year’s Face of Africa was designed and manufactured by Eugenie and her in-house beader. It’s well worth a visit.
